Bring Your Dog To Work Day

Pug-get about having a ruff day this Friday: it's Take Your Dog to Work Day! Arguably the best day on the office calendar, no bones about it!

There are many benefits to bringing a pet to work. Pets are known to boost morale, relieve stress, build a sense of community, and get people out for a break – everything that is beneficial for personal health and workplace collaboration.

Matrix teams, hybrid workplaces, and remote work are no excuse to not celebrate your furry friend. Working from home? Get your dog onto Teams, it's time for them to start earning that treat money!

Have a million photos of your dog on your phone? Use today as a reason to share your pup-arazzi snaps with your colleagues while enjoying a little fur-riendly competition.

As fur my previous email, Take Your Dog to Work Day is the perfect opportunity to sign off your emails with a picture of your four-legged baby.

Embrace some dog related banter in your paw-fice by encouraging your team to incorporate dog puns into their conversations. Here are a few to get you started:

  • "Is it paws-ible to send me that report now?"

  • "Dachshund over to another meeting."

  • "Let's paws the meeting for a second."

  • “The productivity level is off the leash today.”

  • “Let’s take this meeting to the pawdroom.”

If you are able to host animals in your workplace, here are some tips to follow to ensure a pawsome experience for all.

1. Get Everyone Involved.

Before you go any further with your plan, it is important to first gauge the interest of employees. Then, work together to create guidelines for bringing pets to work.

2. Get Building Approval.

Ensure your office is safe for pets and there are adequate provisions for toilet breaks.

3. Make Sure Pets Have Documentation.

For the safety of all dogs coming into the workplace, it is completely reasonable for you to request proof of vaccination for the dogs.

4. Establish Pet-Free Zones.

Designate areas of the office where animals are off limits to ensure workers can get away from office pets if they want or need to.

Whatever you end up doing this Friday, make sure to have a pawfect day!
